Walter Semianiw

Lieutenant-General (ret'd) - Strategic Advisor

During his military service, Lieutenant-General (ret’d) Walter Semianiw served in a number of combat units and formations and in a variety of command and staff appointments at home and abroad. After serving a secondment with the Privy Council Office, he was appointed as Chief Military Personnel at National Defence Headquarters where he helped shape and forge many of the current military human resources policies. He then went on to serve as Commander, Canada Command.

 

In recognition of his exceptional service and performance of duty he was awarded the following: Commander of the Order of Military Merit (C.M.M.) , the Meritorious Service Cross (M.S.C.), and the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (OStJ).

Between 2013 and 2015, he was seconded to Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) as the ADM for Policy, Communications and Commemoration where he was responsible for the development and implementation of VAC’s major policy initiatives.

Peter Stoffer

Strategic Advisor

Mr. Stoffer served as a Member of Parliament for the riding of Sackville-Eastern Shore from 1997 to 2015. During 2011-2015, he served as the Official Opposition Critic for Veterans Affairs.

​

During this time, Mr. Stoffer was honoured with a variety of awards from the environmental, military, provincial and federal communities. He was named Canada’s Parliamentarian of the year 2013, and he received the Veterans Ombudsman award. Mr Stoffer has been knighted into the Order of St. George and has also been knighted by the King of the Netherlands into the Order of Orange Nassau.
