Post-Afghanistan, the CF brass has grown by 10%.

Canada withdrew the bulk of its troops from Afghanistan in 2011.  A DND report tabled in Parliament in January 2016 indicates  that since the end of the conflict, the Regular Force has been losing personnel through attrition and has experienced difficulties in meeting recruiting targets. As a result, the Canadian Forces are at their smallest size since at least 2009.During the same period, however, the number of generals and colonels has grown quite significantly. Canada now has one general officer for every 600 sailors, soldiers and aviators. A NATO record.
