SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN THE MILITARY – STATUS QUO?

On October 24, 2017, CBC Newsworld hosted a panel discussion on the issue of the low rate of convictions by  courts martials of those accused of sexual assaults. CLICK here to watch

The panel also discussed several related issues including the exclusion of victims of the protection offered by the Canadian Bill of Rights for Victims when the accused is tried by a court martial; the inadequacy of the Military Police; as well as the failure of the military to set up an independent external centre responsive to the victims of sexual misconduct.
