While awaiting the publication of the Final Report of the Court Martial Comprehensive Review by the Office of the Judge Advocate General there is a need to ensure that the legislature is both prepared and ready to examine reforms  needed to address the critical shortfalls of the military justice system, Section 4 of the Department of Justice Act gives the Minister of Justice the responsibility to exercise the superintendence over “all matters connected with the administration of justice in Canada”, which obviously must include the military justice system.
